The United Kingdom is made up 4 countries. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. England, Scotland and Wales joined together in 1707. Ireland was added in 1800 through the act of Union. The Republic of Ireland gained its independance from the United Kingdom in 1922. 6 of Ulsters remained part of the United Kingdom as Northern Ireland. Our country has wonderful past that will take a lifetime to explore and understand. I have set a target of visiting all cities in England and completing a meandering. I’m currently halfway as i write this at the beginning of 2025! Hopefully this year I will tick more of these cities off the list. I have been lucky enough in my lifetime to take on some incredible adventures. Walking the length of the Thames Path from Source to Barrier and Cycling Lands End to John o’ Groats. I will hopefully get the blogs of these incredible adventures up on this blog, as they share an incredible tale of adventure and friendship.
I hope that you enjoy reading about the country I’m proud to be born in. If there is any place you feel that I should visit then please feel free to tell me and I will strive to make it there.
